Aim Within the rules, to accumulate points until you have reached the winning target before your opponent.  Divided into an attacking and a defensive factor.  See link
Ats Safety attribute of shot - margin of error for avoiding a foul.  See link
Ata Attack attribute of shot - probability of shot winning the rally outright.  See link
Atd Deny attribute of shot - probability that the opponent's reply will have low Ata.  See link
Atb Build attribute of shot - probability that the opponent's reply will have low Atd.  See link
Hitting zone The volume of space around the body in which the racket head can move and play shots. See link
Legal hitting zone The space on the player's side of the net.  See link
Prepare phase From the moment the opponent strikes the shuttle till the moment the shot phase begins.  See link
Possible hitting zone The space withint the legal hitting zone in which a shot can physically be played.  See link
Possible impact set Set of points in a trajectory that a shot can be played from.  See link
Possible shot set The shots playable in the possible impact set.  See link
RP phase From the end of the shot phase till the moment the opponent strikes the shuttle.  See link
Shot phase From the start of shot execution to the point at which kinetic energy that has accumulated during the shot can now be brought under control for the RP phase.  See link
Trajectory The path through space taken by the shuttle
